Aiming to become an engineer who enriches the world

Engineering is the foundational discipline for designing, developing, manufacturing, operating, and maintaining products that benefit society, such as automobiles, robots, aerospace, home appliances, skyscrapers, houses, bridges, and information and medical equipment.

At our Faculty of Faculty of Engineering, we cultivate high-level engineering skills by learning practical theories and technologies based on a unique curriculum across eight departments, one course, and one classroom. In particular, we foster fundamental skills through lectures and practical experiments, and develop idea generation skills and the ability to apply theories and technologies in practical situations through problem-solving classes. Furthermore, we have established a special six-year integrated class from undergraduate to graduate school to cultivate global talent, aiming for the achievement of advanced goals through small class sizes and an accelerated learning system.

The Omiya Campus boasts a comprehensive educational and research environment, including "MonoLab," equipped with everything from traditional machine tools to state-of-the-art machining centers; "MonoLab ANNEX," a base for human-powered aircraft, solar car, student formula, and robotics projects; and world-leading facilities such as the "Nanomaterials and Microdevices Research Center" and the "Bio-Manufacturing Lab."

Learning and growing at university are crucial for your future. Being a member of the Faculty of Engineering presents an excellent opportunity. Be curious about many things, actively take on challenges, gain a lot of experience, learn from many friends, and aim to become engineers who enrich the world. We wish you a brilliant university life.

Department 10 departments that transcend fields

Eight departments dealing with cutting-edge science and technology, and two departments and classrooms dealing with liberal arts.
In addition to theory, students will learn everything from basic technology to cutting-edge technology that will pave the way for the future, and this will develop them into engineering professionals with diverse knowledge and solid skills who can tackle solving social issues.

The following departments are not currently recruiting students.

Feature Learning in the Faculty of Faculty of Engineering

01 The educational goal of the Faculty of Faculty of Engineering is to produce the excellent human resources that society demands

・Independent engineers with rich interpersonal skills
We aim to develop independent engineers with a broad education and character who can think and act from an international perspective, and who can consider and act with regard to the global environment and the mission and ethics of engineers.
・Engineers with a foundation in engineering
The program aims to develop engineers who can solve problems collaboratively by acquiring a foundation in natural sciences and computer literacy, understanding engineering phenomena and acquiring the ability to model them, and then accurately communicating that knowledge to others in both Japanese and English.
・Practical engineers who master engineering expertise and tackle problems
We aim to develop engineers who will systematically understand the content of specialized technologies, use the latest tools in their respective fields of expertise to solve given problems, and continue to learn throughout their lives.

02 The Faculty of Engineering unique educational program that satisfies the desire for knowledge

・Special courses
We provide a high-level learning environment for outstanding students, allowing them to aim for even greater heights.
Please see each department's page for details of its unique concept.
・International Exchange Programs
We have various overseas study programs in place, including language training programs and international PBL programs, which foster students' international outlook.
・Graduate student research activity support system
To support the research activities of students who proceed to graduate school, there are systems in place such as research activity grants and domestic and international research activity funds.

03 Education and research in the field of cutting-edge science and technology, and the research center that supports it

- A collection of research seeds introducing nearly 100 research projects by faculty members of the faculty
・The Yahata Engineering Laboratory aims to contribute to the development of social development technologies through research into the fundamentals and applications of engineering.
・" MONOLAB." (Manufacturing Center) - A factory for students
- The Nanomaterials and Microdevices Research Center , where undergraduate students can gain practical experience in advanced semiconductor manufacturing and evaluation technologies
