Alumni Use Guide

About the Alumni Association

Information on various alumni association activities

At Osaka Institute of Technology(OIT), graduates are called "alumni." In order to promote cooperation and friendship among alumni and contribute to the development of the school, the Josho Gakuen Alumni Association is an organization made up of alumni from Osaka Institute of Technology, Josho Gakuen Junior and Senior High School, and the school's predecessor. In addition, the association works with five alumni associations organized by school, and has established 62 regional branches and 15 occupational branches nationwide to build an alumni network. Osaka Institute of Technology alumni belong to the Osaka Institute of Technology Alumni Association (commonly known as the Tech Alumni Association), and also belong to one of the branches depending on their place of residence or place of employment. There are two overseas alumni associations, one in Korea and one in Taiwan, where alumni including international students are active.
In order to strengthen the bond between alumni and the school, which tends to weaken after graduation, we hold a "National Branch Exchange Meeting" where alumni from all over the country gather together, as well as general meetings and various events every year at 77 branches nationwide. In addition, we publish a newsletter, "Alumni Times," every year, to convey the latest news about the school, the activities of alumni, and the status of activities of the association. In addition, we hold a general meeting every other year at the Engineering Conference, and hold a homecoming day at our alma mater every year in conjunction with the school festival.

Chast

It is located 30 meters south of the main gate of the Omiya Campus. It is a fan-shaped, three-story building with an open atrium structure designed to create a bright and open atmosphere.
The Language Learning Center (LLC), located on the 1st to 3rd floors, has native-speaking teachers on-site so you can learn real-life English.

Comment from Takuya Sumiya (graduate of the Department of Faculty of Engineering , Department of Architecture), who coined the name "Chast"

"Chast" is a combination of the words "chat" and "rest." We named it the lounge with the hope that people will enjoy chatting and resting in it. We hope that it will become a facility that is used casually as a place of relaxation for everyone.

1st to 3rd floors (Language Learning Center (LLC))

LLC is a facility for current students to support independent learning of English and English conversation. The public can only use the lounge on the first floor. Four native speaker teachers are always on-site and support students' independent learning with a wide range of language learning materials. To allow students to be exposed to English, only English is spoken within the center.
Opening hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 18:15 (only during school hours).
