Student Life Support for students with disabilities (reasonable accommodations)

In 2021, the revised Act on the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities was enacted, and in order to realize a society where everyone can live in peace regardless of whether they have a disability or not, all businesses are required to implement "reasonable accommodation" to guarantee equal opportunities for people with disabilities. In order to guarantee equal learning and employment opportunities for people with disabilities (including those with chronic or intractable diseases), our university provides necessary and appropriate modifications and adjustments tailored to each individual, depending on the type and degree of their disability, and the purpose, content, and function of classes and research activities, etc., to the extent that does not impose an excessive burden.

Support for students with disabilities

At our university, relevant departments work together to support students with disabilities so that they can receive an equal education and have a fulfilling student life. Please refer to the following and contact the consultation desk.

What is a disability?

Visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical disability, internal disability, developmental disability, mental disability, other disabilities (Consultations are available even if you have not been certified as disabled)

How to get support

As a general rule, consultation regarding support begins upon request from the student himself/herself. Please make an appointment with the consultation desk listed below.

What happens after the consultation?

We will discuss with the student themselves what support is needed based on the student's disability and make arrangements to provide that support on campus.
