If this happens, please come to the Language Learning Center (LLC) located on the 1st to 3rd floors of Chast.
LLC is an "English space" for current students to study English.
We offer a wide range of teaching materials and services to help you become a "natural English speaker."

Buddy System (International Friendship Department)
The International Friendship Department mainly provides buddy support activities for international students.
When international students enroll in our university, we guide them to tourist spots around Osaka and accompany them on off-campus training programs, helping them learn about Japanese culture and teaching us about their culture. This is an intercultural exchange activity.
We also carry out a variety of other activities to help students develop an international perspective and become global talent!

International Student Friendship Association
I'm sure that new international students have some worries and concerns about life in Japan. The International Student Association, organized by international students at our university, can give you advice based on their own experiences. Make lots of friends at the International Student Association and have a fun time studying abroad together!
Community contributions by international students
At elementary schools near the Omiya Campus and junior and senior high schools run by our school, our international students act as "teachers" to introduce the daily customs and language of their home countries and carefully answer the simple questions of the children one by one. This is an opportunity for the students to understand their own country and at the same time to reconsider their own ideas about internationalization.

Accepting exchange students
Our university accepts students from overseas universities with which we have exchange agreements, including member universities of UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific), for up to one year free of tuition fees.
Basically, depending on their purpose, exchange students will do one of the following at our university: 1) take classes to earn credits as a special student, 2) be assigned to a laboratory and conduct research/internships, or 3) participate in short-term special programs.
Accepting exchange students not only allows the students to improve their expertise and deepen their understanding of different cultures, but also provides an opportunity for our students to gain valuable experience through interactions with students from overseas that will be useful in their future global activities.

Various procedures in Japan (for international students)
Residency Management System
At New Chitose Airport, Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, Chubu Centrair Airport, Kansai Airport, Hiroshima Airport and Fukuoka Airport, mid- to long-term residents will be issued a "Residence Card." Please carry your "Residence Card" with you at all times.
- Notification of address at city, town or village office
Those who have been issued a "Residence Card" must notify the city, town or village office of their new address within 14 days of deciding on a new address. In addition, if you move, you must also notify the city, town or village office of your new address within 14 days of moving, bringing your "Residence Card" with you. - Procedures at the Immigration Bureau
If your surname or nationality/region has changed due to marriage, please apply for a new residence card at the Immigration Bureau. If your residence card is lost, stolen, or damaged, please apply for a reissue at the Immigration Bureau. In addition, if you enroll, graduate, or withdraw from our university, our university will submit a notification to the Immigration Bureau within 14 days.
Renewal of period of stay
The period during which you can reside in Japan as an international student (with a status of residence of "Student") is fixed. If you wish to continue to stay in Japan for reasons such as advancing to the next grade or going on to graduate school, you will need to apply to extend your period of stay.
Permission to engage in activities other than those permitted by status of residence
As the purpose of international students' activities in Japan is to study and research, they are generally not allowed to engage in any other activities. In order to work part-time, they must obtain permission to engage in activities other than those permitted under the status of residence permitted by the Immigration Bureau.
【Note】
- If you are doing the following part-time work at our university, you do not need permission to engage in activities other than those permitted under the status of residence permitted under the visa. Peer Supporters (PS), Teaching Assistants (TA), Research Assistants (RA)*However, by law you cannot work more than 28 hours a week.
- You cannot work part-time while on leave from school.
Deemed re-entry permission
In principle, if you plan to re-enter Japan within one year of leaving the country to continue your activities, you do not need to obtain re-entry permission.
[Note] If you leave the country temporarily, please make sure that it does not disrupt your classes.
Joining National Health Insurance
Japan has a medical insurance system, and if you present your insurance card at the hospital counter, you can receive treatment at a cost of 30% of the medical expenses. To apply for National Health Insurance, please apply at the counter of your local ward office. If there are any changes in your address or name, please notify your ward office within 14 days.
In addition, our university has a student mutual aid system that covers the self-paid cost of medical treatment (equivalent to medical expenses). There are conditions for the benefit, so please contact Josho Welfare Co., Ltd. for details.
[Note] Health checkups, vaccinations, and normal childbirth are not covered by health insurance because they are not treatment for illness or injury.

Use of the nurse's office
In the case of minor illness or injury, you can receive first aid free of charge at the university's health center. Also, if you are having trouble or worries about your studies, career path, relationships, or cultural adjustment, please do not try to solve the problem alone; please come and talk to us.

[Note] Our university provides regular health checkups free of charge, so please be sure to take them.
Leave of absence, withdrawal, and graduation
- If you are staying in Japan with a "Student" visa and do not continue to engage in activities as a student for more than three months without a valid reason, your visa will be revoked. Therefore, if you are taking a leave of absence, you must return to your home country as soon as possible unless you have a valid reason. If you need to stay in Japan during your leave of absence for special reasons, please consult with the Osaka Immigration Bureau.
- If you drop out or graduate, you must return to your home country immediately even if you still have a valid visa period. If you wish to continue to stay in Japan, you must change your visa status from "Student" to the required visa status. It is illegal to stay in Japan without changing your visa status. If you wish to continue to stay in Japan after graduation to look for a job, you must change your visa status to "Designated Activities."
International Hall (student dormitory)
We provide a comfortable living environment and a place for interaction.
To ensure that students can live comfortably, each room is equipped with a bathroom, toilet, air conditioner, sink, bed, desk, refrigerator, etc. There are also shared facilities such as a laundry room and a lounge where students can deepen their relationships. A manager is always present in the dormitory to provide support for daily life.

Eligibility
- Be a student of Osaka Institute of Technology or Setsunan University.
- You must be able to abide by the rules set out in the International House Guidebook.
Conditions for Occupancy
In principle, the tenancy period is within one year, from April 1st to March 31st.
However, it can be renewed by following the prescribed procedures.
If you are a new resident, please submit the "Application for Occupancy and Pledge" at least 30 days before your desired move-in date (or 2 weeks before if there are unavoidable circumstances).
