In modern society, not only are companies transferring their production bases overseas and markets becoming borderless, but "globalization" is permeating all kinds of activities. In our university's human resource development, we consider responding to "globalization" to be the most important issue.
As a university with a focus on science and engineering, we have set the following three goals for "developing global human resources."
Goals of Global Human Resource Development
- Promoting sustainable international collaboration through the synergistic effects of expanding educational programs and research exchanges
- To create a campus environment where diverse cultures can coexist and to raise awareness among students, faculty and staff.
- Actively give back the results of our global expansion to local and international communities
In order to achieve the above goals, our university offers a variety of overseas study programs, with an emphasis on the following points:
Overseas Study Program
- Raising awareness of the "global society" from the time of enrollment
- To provide a program that gradually becomes more advanced as students progress through the grades.
- Incorporating learning through hands-on experience of working with students from overseas

Basic policy for global expansion toward J-Vision 37
Our university celebrated its 100th anniversary on October 30, 2022. In order to achieve the first mid-term goals and plans [2023-2027] of the university's basic vision "J-Vision 37" up to 2037, which will be the first step towards the next 100 years, we will implement measures for global expansion under the following policies.

- Expanding educational programs to foster international awareness among students
(1) Developing education to foster professionals who can respond to an increasingly globalized society
(2) Expanding opportunities to cultivate internationality through international exchange and collaboration programs (sending and receiving students) (Figure 2) and the enhancement of diverse international education, including online learning
- We aim to increase the percentage of students who have participated in international exchange and collaboration programs, including online programs, to 20% by 2027 and 50% by 2037.
- Accept more than 300 short-term trainees by fiscal 2027, including online courses
(3) Enhancing the Language Learning Center (LLC) and expanding opportunities to improve language skills- Maintain a nearly 100% TOEIC test-taking rate for first and second year students
- Promoting research exchanges with overseas institutions
(4) Building a global network through collaboration with overseas educational and research institutions, companies, and regions, and promoting joint research and personal exchanges.- By 2027, we will have signed agreements with over 100 overseas research and educational institutions.
- Accept more than 10 short-term foreign researchers each year
(5) International dissemination of research activities and results through strategic public relations- Increase the number of presentations at international conferences by graduate students (200 or more by 2027, including online presentations)
(6) Promoting the acceptance of international students (including non-degree students)- Accept more than 100 regular and exchange students by 2027
- Creating a campus environment where diverse cultures can coexist
(7) Under the leadership of the President, relevant departments will work together to create an environment that promotes campus internationalization while respecting diversity.
(8) Promoting Faculty Development and Staff Development to Internationalize Faculty and Staff - Returning the fruits of global (glocal) activities to society
(9) Share issues with domestic and international partners to promote USR (University Social Responsibility) and achieve the SDGs.
(10) Providing learning opportunities, including lectures, seminars, and science and craft experiments, including online, to local communities around the world.
