Introduction
In recent years, the need for lifelong learning has increased and diversified. Osaka Institute of Technology and its graduate schools have established a system for "non-degree students" that allows students to attend classes together with general students and earn a certain number of credits if they pass exams.
What is the Part-Time Student System?
The non-degree student system is a system that certifies credits for courses taken at a university for those who have the qualifications to enter university, and was created by the revision of the University Establishment Standards in 1991. This system allows working adults to take university classes as students for the class hours they spend there, and accumulate various credits. In other words, if you attend classes and pass exams, you can earn credits just like a regular student, and you can use this system to acquire qualifications such as teaching licenses and to use university classes to improve your knowledge.
Obtaining a bachelor's degree through the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Assurance
Graduates of junior colleges and technical colleges, as well as those who have been enrolled at a university for two years or more and have earned 62 or more credits, can apply to the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education, along with the credits they have earned as non-degree students, to obtain a bachelor's degree. For more information, please contact the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education ( http://www.niad.ac.jp ).
