The online course registration process will be done on UNIPA. Please check the course registration guidelines for how to use them and complete the process within the specified period.
-
1-2 Why do I have to register for a full year of courses during the course registration period in the first semester?
If there are no applicants for a course during the first semester course registration period, the course will not be offered, even if it is a second semester course. To prevent a situation where a course you had planned to take in the second semester is canceled and you are unable to take the course, be sure to register for the entire year during the first semester course registration period.(This does not apply to courses for which special instructions have been issued within the department regarding how to take them.)Therefore, during the course registration period for the second semester, please only add, change, or delete courses for the second semester. For details, please refer to the course registration guidelines.
-
1-3 What kind of course plan should I make?
The number of credits required for graduation is 124. Please plan your course enrollment so that you will meet the requirements for taking the Information Seminar at the end of your second year (only for the Faculty of Information Science and Technology), the requirements for starting your graduation research at the end of your third year, and the requirements for graduation at the end of your fourth year. Since you will need to devote time to graduation research and job hunting in your fourth year, you should aim to acquire approximately the required number of credits by your third year.*Each requirement varies depending on the year of admission and department. Be sure to check the requirements that apply to your year of admission in the Course Application Guidelines before making your course registration plan.
-
1-4 Which subjects should I take?
Students should choose a balance between specialized and general subjects, such as the required and elective required subjects assigned to each year, and prioritize the subjects necessary to fulfill graduation requirements, the requirements for starting graduation research, etc. When applying for online courses in your first year, courses that are particularly recommended for you to take in your assigned academic year (courses with a specific mark* before the course name on the timetable) will already be registered and displayed on the UNIPA student timetable.* Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Robotics and Design: marked with ●; Faculty of Intellectual Property: marked with ●, ◎, ☆, etc. The designated courses for first-year students in the Faculty of Information Science and Technology are listed in the Course Registration Guidelines.
-
1-5 I want to know about subjects that are not included in the annual maximum number of credits
The applicable courses vary depending on the year of enrollment. For a list of courses, please check the course application guidelines for your faculty.

9-2 I was unable to pay my tuition fees by the due date and have been expelled. What should I do?
Students who have been expelled against their will due to reasons such as not being able to pay tuition fees in time, despite their intention to continue studying, can apply for revocation of their expulsion as a special measure if they meet certain conditions.
The procedure is available only to eligible students during a designated period (first semester: early July, second semester: early December). This procedure is generally carried out at the Academic Affairs Division counter, but in certain circumstances, it can also be applied for online. The basic steps are as follows:
① After logging in to UNIPA, request a form from the university by clicking "Web Application."
② (After the relevant department at your campus confirms that you are a non-payer of tuition fees) The application form data will be sent to the email address provided by the university (@st.oit.ac.jp).
3. Fill in the necessary information on the form, print it out, stamp it, and take a photo of the form with your smartphone or other device.
④ After logging in to UNIPA, attach the photo you took to "Web Application" and submit the application by the specified deadline. *After submitting the online application, you must submit the original at the counter.
⑤ (After completing the on-campus procedures) A payment slip will be mailed to the specified address, and you can use this payment slip to pay at a financial institution.

10. Transfer of departments and majors
-
10-1 I want to know about changing departments and majors
This is a system that allows students to transfer to other faculties and departments at our university. Students are accepted only in their second year. (Please note that students who will be in their first year the following year due to a leave of absence, etc., are not eligible to apply.) The decision will depend on whether there are vacancies in the faculties and departments to which students are transferring, and their grades, so there is no guarantee that they will be approved. Credits already earned in the current department will be recognized by the curriculum of the new department through a reclassification of subjects, but students will still need to earn the credits required for graduation.Applications for the following year are usually announced around mid-January, so if you are interested, please be sure to check the details. The application period is usually two days in late February. If you wish to take the exam, please submit your application along with the examination fee (2,000 yen) within the period. Prior to applying, you will need to consult with a faculty member from your desired department, so for more information, please contact the relevant department on your campus (Academic Affairs Office, Faculty of Robotics & Design Engineering Office, Faculty of Information Science Office).*There is no transfer of departments within the Faculty of Information Science.
11. Re-enrollment
-
11-1 I would like to know about the re-admission procedure
Applications for re-admission must be made within two academic years, including the year of withdrawal or expulsion (unless there are special circumstances). Application forms will be distributed around the end of January, so please contact the relevant department (Academic Affairs Division, Office of the Faculty of Robotics & Design Faculty of Engineering, Office of the Faculty of Information Science and Technology) at the campus where you wish to re-admit.The application period is from late February to early March. Please submit your application together with the examination fee (10,000 yen).If re-enrollment is approved (announced in mid-March), you will need to pay the re-enrollment fee and tuition for the first semester within one week of being approved. Please note that re-enrollment may result in a change to the academic year to which the academic regulations apply, and may result in changes to tuition fees and the number of credits earned.
